San Juan Transfer Station

EC Waste operates a transfer station located at the Autonomous Municipality of San Juan. Transfer stations are facilities designed to deposit solid wastes temporarily, for later movement or transportation to a final disposal facility. Their primary purpose is to make waste management more efficient by helping to reduce transportation costs. They are an adequate and safe mechanism to manage solid wastes. A transfer trailer can transport to a sanitary landfill a load of waste equivalent to three or four smaller trucks.
The San Juan transfer station has a management capacity of 2,600 tons of solid waste and receives non-hazardous solid waste and redirects vegetative materials and pallets for recycling.
