The Wheelabrator Falls energy-from-waste facility uses everyday waste from local homes and businesses as a local, sustainable fuel to create clean, renewable energy, all part of a local-energy ecosystem. The plant provides dependable, environmentally safe disposal of up to 1,500 tons of waste daily, using this local fuel to produce as much as 53 MW of electricity, the equivalent of supplying the electrical needs of up to 41,000 Bucks County homes and businesses as well as its own operations.

As part of its special waste capabilities, Wheelabrator Falls features a powerful industrial drum shredder that enhances its ability to process industrial waste, and can shred as much as 150 tons per hour while achieving up to 80 percent volume reduction.

Wheelabrator Falls is committed to the environment and as such maintains an on-site 27-acre wildlife sanctuary that is certified by the Wildlife Habitat Council as both a Wildlife at Work and Corporate Lands for Learning site, offering hands-on educational opportunities for the local community.
