New Feature Alert! Cookie Consent

Overview

Wastebits now displays a cookie consent banner when you sign in, giving you control over which non-essential cookies are used while you're on the platform. You can accept, decline, or customize your cookie preferences at any time.

1. The Cookie Consent Banner

When you visit a Wastebits login page, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen explaining that essential cookies are used to make the site work, and that with your consent, non-essential cookies may also be used to improve your experience and analyze site traffic.

You have three options:

  • Accept — allow all cookie categories.
  • Decline — allow only essential cookies (required to sign in and operate the application).
  • Preferences — open a detailed panel to choose which cookie categories to allow.

2. Customizing Your Preferences

Clicking Preferences opens a panel where you can review and choose which types of cookies to allow:

  • Essential Cookies — always active; required for core functionality like signing in and accessing secure areas. These cannot be turned off.
  • Performance and Functionality Cookies
  • Analytics and Customization Cookies
  • Advertising Cookies
  • Social Networking Cookies
  • Unclassified Cookies

You can also check Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information from this panel. When finished, click Allow All or Decline All, or adjust individual categories before saving.

3. Managing Your Cookie Preferences After Sign-In

You can revisit your cookie settings at any time from Your Preferences:

  1. Click your name in the top right corner of the application.
  2. Select Your Preferences from the dropdown menu.
  3. Navigate to the Cookies tab.

From here, you'll see the cookie categories currently in use and whether each is allowed:

  • Essential — always active; required to sign in, stay signed in, and operate the application.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics, used to understand which parts of the application are used. Declining stops the analytics scripts from loading at all.
  • Performance — the Intercom support widget, which powers live chat and records product usage events. Declining replaces live chat with an email contact option.

Click Manage Cookie Preferences to open the same preferences panel described above and make changes.

4. Your Privacy Rights

From the Cookies tab, you can also:

  • Review the Privacy Policy
  • Submit a Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information request
  • Submit a Privacy Request
