The Notification Preferences page lets you customize how you receive alerts from your portal about activity and updates that matter to you in the Wastebits platform. By selecting your preferred notification options, you can stay informed about key events without receiving messages you don’t need.

Users can access these settings from the Preferences section of the Vroom user menu.


What Are Notification Preferences?

Notification preferences control how and when you receive alerts related to actions, changes, or tasks in the application. These may include:

  • System activity alerts
  • Message or comment notifications
  • Task reminders
  • Status updates

In-app notifications will be displayed within the platform interface whenever relevant. Email notifications are sent to your registered email address based on your chosen frequency.


How to Access Notification Preferences

  1. Sign in to your portal.
  2. Click your profile or user icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Preferences from the menu.
  4. Choose Notifications.

You will be taken to the Notification Preferences page where you can customize your settings.


Notification Options

1. In-App Notifications

  • These alerts appear directly inside the portal interface.

Tip: In-app notifications are immediate and can be clicked to navigate to the related page.


2. Email Notifications

You can adjust how frequently you receive email alerts:

  • Frequently – Emails are sent soon after events occur. Similar notifications within a short time period may be bundled to reduce inbox clutter.
  • Daily – A single summary email with all notifications from the day.
  • Never – Suppresses email notifications (you’ll still see in-app alerts).

To change email frequency:

  1. On the Notification Preferences page, find the email notification section.
  2. Choose your preferred frequency.
  3. Click Save to apply changes.

Notification Categories

Depending on your user permissions and activity, you may see separate toggles for specific categories, such as:

  • Comments
  • Approvals
  • Task changes relevant to signatures and requests
    (Actual category names may vary based on your configuration.)

Turn notifications on or off for categories important to you. If a category sends frequent messages, consider switching to a daily summary.


Tips for Managing Notifications

  • If your inbox gets too busy, switch email notifications to Daily.
  • Use in-app notifications to stay updated without cluttering your email.
  • Ensure the email address associated with your account is correct, and you have agreed to the Terms of Service to receive notifications.

Troubleshooting

I’m not getting email notifications.

  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Confirm your email address in Account Settings.
  • Ensure your email notification frequency is not set to Never.
  • Ensure that you have agreed to your Terms of Service

I want fewer notifications.

  • Disable categories that are less critical.
  • Change the frequency from Frequently to Daily.
